New Launch

J.Crew Baby has been in business only a mere two months and it is already my favorite site for baby clothing. I have been a long time fan of their Kid's line Crew Cuts so I am feeling grateful they extended the collection into baby wear!

What you can expect to find: In the same vein as J. Crew Men and Women, their baby collection offers a mix of ultra cool collaborations with the likes of Liberty prints, Petit Bateau, Rikshaw Design, and New Zealand’s organic Nature Baby.
Their in-house baby line also adheres to the J. Crew aesthetics by showcasing casual, preppy easy to wear pieces, such as striped tunics, cashmere sweater sets and ultra soft polka dot onies.

A Fall Day

Today we went exploring country side! We discovered an unattended pumpkin patch and decided to go rouge and traverse the planted soil. Layla was captivated by the brightly colored pumpkins and surrounding greenery. Here are some of my favorite images from today.

On another note, my mantra for fall fashion is layering!  I love to layer not only for its practicality ( i.e (you can always add or subtract layers depending on the weather) but also because it is a simple way to incorporate contrast, color, and texture.

On Erika: Theory Sweater, Forever 21 jeans (similar) Rag and bone Booties, J CrewVest, Sunpocket sunglasses
On Layla: Baby Gap long sleeve onsies, Stem pants, PLH Head band

Business and Pleasure

I have built up quite the arsenal of work worthy attire that is also apporpriorate for after business hours activities.  Last week I wore this look to work as well as to a Happy Hour with friends!

Get Festive

I spent a ton of time researching infant/kids Halloween Costumes. I hit the Mother lode when I stumbled upon Potterybarn Kids!  Their site offers a plethora of adorable costumes for all age groups. I had a hard time choosing between this, and this but decided to go with the baby owl, pictured above.

Check out some Runner Up sites : H&M, Kohl's, Diapers.com

Milestone-Oohs and Ahhs

Layla has arrived at the major milestone of baby bauble. It started off with cooing, that soft murmuring sound babies unintentionally make. Then over the course of several weeks a transformation happened and she began to make vocal expressions intentionally. This usually occurs when I get close to her face and speak in exaggerated high tone bauble. I seem to elicit more baubles when we have direct eye contact. (I don’t stand a chance achieving her full attention if there is a ceiling fan anywhere in her peripheral vision).  Our bauble chats have become a morning ritual and as each day passes I get more and more excited to her my three-letter name.

Size Matters

(photo c/o Zara kids)

Zara Kids is one of my favorite online shopping sources for unique baby clothing.

I especially admire the mature aesthetics applied to their baby clothing.  Such as this fur coat which instantly caught my eye. In fact I immediately began to wonder if it also came in my size; unfortunately luck was not on my side today.

My Wants

When Fall rolls around in Southern California, I begin to experience FOMO. Being a transplant from Seattle I am privy to a true transition from Summer to Fall, and it doesn't involve sweltering heat early October.

After consulting with the 10 day forecast, it looks as if my FOMO won't be dissipating anytime soon.
In the meantime, I will be dreaming of crisp fall weather and wearing these 11 fall favorites sometime down the road.
