The Basics

This week we are preparing for our annual trip to the desert to attend Coachella. This trip will be slightly different than prior years as we will have our little peanut in tow, well not exactly. Layla will be lounging poolside under careful tutelage, while we navigating the music festival masses.

Layla's suitcase is just about packed and it is filled with the basics, such as white tees, cut offs, hair swag and double digit SPF! In the same vein as Layla, I will also be showcasing the basics during the festivities!

Stay tuned for my packing guide!

Trending Now-Floral Prints

This Spring floral prints are in full bloom; and we are stocking up in a big way. I have purchased a myriad of baby clothes splashed with floral bouquets in every shape, size and style imaginable.

This Baby Boden long sleeve (first image) reminds me of the early 90's Laura Ashley wallpaper I had displayed in my bedroom (along with my white lacquered trundle day bed..obviously). I love this dainty top paired with colored denim and a pink bow head band.

When I am not feeling nostalgic, I am drawn to the more modern abstract prints as seen in Layla's floral track jacket.

Regardless of the style, hue or print.... Flower Power is currently trending.

On Layla:

Peek Yellow Jeans
H & M Track Jacket
H & M striped Jeans

A girl and her tutu

Tutus are undoubtedly one of my favorite creations, especially when wore on a 7 month old babe. Layla seems to be equally enthralled with the layers of tulle and enjoys wearing it with embroidered heart tights and pink Chuck Taylors'.  Unfortunately, this particular tutu is sold out at Target but here are some of my favorite alternatives: 1/2/3

New Launch

J.Crew Baby has been in business only a mere two months and it is already my favorite site for baby clothing. I have been a long time fan of their Kid's line Crew Cuts so I am feeling grateful they extended the collection into baby wear!

What you can expect to find: In the same vein as J. Crew Men and Women, their baby collection offers a mix of ultra cool collaborations with the likes of Liberty prints, Petit Bateau, Rikshaw Design, and New Zealand’s organic Nature Baby.
Their in-house baby line also adheres to the J. Crew aesthetics by showcasing casual, preppy easy to wear pieces, such as striped tunics, cashmere sweater sets and ultra soft polka dot onies.

Pipsqueak Style-Hair Flair

(PLH,  Crew Cuts head wear)

Last week we embarked on a trip to Seattle Washington our original home turf.

It was Layla's first plane ride and lucky for us my fears of experiencing the travails of a traveling infant did not materialize. In fact, it was quite the opposite, Layla's smiling face seemed to elicit lots of attention especially from the female crowd. Unfortunately most mistaken her for a little boy.

The remedy? frivolous head accessories of course! Here are a few of my favorites!
