A Grey Day

Today Southern California is experiencing the most mercurial weather patterns. In a matter of seconds the sunny, clear sky transpired to ominous clouds bearing tiny rain droplets. In this sort of weather a hat, water resistant boots and a light weight jacket are a must. Unfortunately, Layla has just discovered how to take off her own hat. She would not cooperate long enough with it on to even snap a few pictures, silly girl.

On Erika: Rag and Bone jacket, Free People Hat, J. Crew Purse (similar), Weather proof Aquatalia boots
On Layla: Zara pants (sold out), Baby Gap Coat, Trumpet Socks

Pipsqueak Style

This week our house entertained the most petulant guest of all, also known as the flu. Taking sick leave prior to having a baby was somewhat relaxing, unfortunately the last four days were anything but that. I am happy to announce we weathered the storm and are all on the mend. Today we are taking baby steps and venturing out doors to get some much needed fresh air!
On Layla: Zara baby blouse, Zara pants (sold out) Etsy Hat

Feature Friday

I decided to launch a weekly Friday series in which I will feature a person, place, brand or website that inspires me. I am influenced daily by so many things and I am excited to have a platform to share my discoveries with you all.

Kicking off my series is The Urbanic Paper Boutique.  This crafty online store, sells all things paper, including greeting cards, personalized stationery, wrapping paper and wall calendars. I am a self proclaimed paper junkie and openly admit I sometimes spend more on the card, wrapping paper and ribbon than the gift. Paper addict or not this store's inventory flaunts originality that you won't find anywhere else.

New Year

One of my favorite blogs, Small Fry asked their readers to share their answer to the question below:

Many people choose a word to reflect on, live by, or aspire to for the New Year. Let us know your word, how you decided upon it, and one of my favorite blogs, small fry asked their readers to share their answer to the question below:

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”

This quote has always been near to my heart. This past week I have posted it in various places such as on my computer’s virtual sticky note and refrigerator, as it is my mantra for 2014! As a new mom, wife, and blogger with a full time job it is easy to get discouraged as I feel like I am being pulled in a million different directions. This quote reminds me to keep on keeping on!
