Workout Warrior

With spring in full bloom and summer lurking around the corner, it is time to hit the pavement and start shedding the winter weight. I have found the best way to lose the waistline is by setting goals and adhering to a weekly fitness routine.  Click here to search weekly routines that cater to your body type.

Once your workout routine and goals are established, commence your fitness launch by investing in some comfortable and durable running shoes, such as these Skechers Flex Appeal running shoes. I recently was introduced to this line of performance sneakers and have become obsessed with the Memory Foam sole and tie-dye mesh exterior.

Dainty Dresses

The heat spell that rapidly transpired overnight has me begging to wear light weight, breathable clothing; denim, twill and other heavy fabrics simply will not do in these temperatures. I purchased this lightweight frock at Free People just in the nick of time. I love the dainty lace trim that accompanies the bodice and open back. Pairing this dress with an oversize kimono is an easy transition for those warm summer nights.

Giveaway!

Is there anything more annoying and cumbersome than dealing with tangled, knotted jewelry?

For far too long, I did a seriously bad job at packing my jewelry. In some instances, I have even thrown away several necklaces due to unruly knots that formed during travel. Which is why I was so appreciative to stumble upon Lori Leigh's compact travel case.  This stylish case is a great solution to keep your jewels organized and secure while traveling.

Today I am teaming up with the crew at Lori Leigh in hosting a giveaway. One lucky reader will receive this Raspberry mini travel case!

Good Advice

Dress (on sale now) /Scarf/Leggings/Shoes (Baby Gap store only)

Lately, I have felt the need to be productive 24/7, as if mom duty is not enough. When I am home with Layla I feel compelled to multi task every moment of my waking hours; someone has to tackle the ceaseless mound of laundry and pick up the scattered baby toys. I am sure I am not the first mom to experience this feeling and I often wonder how other moms get it all done!

However, on a whim yesterday I decided I needed to just stop and "smell the roses". With that notion in mind, I set the laundry basket down, packed my girl up and took her exploring!  We walked to some near by lemon orchards and got some much needed fresh air. We also laid in the sun, and of course tasted the sour fruit. Layla found a mini lemon, which was a prefect fit for her paws. I was surprised by how much she enjoyed the sour taste!

Festival Florals

Shopping for Coachella was no easy task, most of the so called  "festival wear" looks to be Layla's size. The days of exposing my midriff have settled into my past, I simply can't pull it off post pregnancy. Which is why I was elated when I visited Free People's website and found numerous flowy, free forming dresses, such as this one pictured. I also loved this option here. Their website has literally hundreds of options from many designers, unlike their tiny store fronts, which only sells proprietary products.

Giveaway!

I was recently introduced to Matilda Jane clothing; a children's clothing company that has garnered a lot of attention for their unique, whimsical, fun loving collection.  Not only is the product aesthetically pleasing, you will love the texture and hand of their garments.  They are dedicated to selecting quality fabrics and trims which isn't always the case when it comes to baby clothes!

This season's collection is inspired by "It is a wonderful parade" and boasts fanfare attire, adorned with ribbons, ruffles, and bows that your child is sure to enjoy.

Layla is wearing their Love Letter Shabby top and here she is wearing their cloudy puffer tee. We also have our eye on their Backyard Baby set.

Today I am giving away a $50.00 gift card to Matilda Jane Clothing! Leave me a comment on my Instagram post (of this outfit) and I will select one lucky winner.

Leisure Wear

My family and I spent the weekend in Palm Springs. We visit Palm Springs quite often as it is a relaxing oasis just a mere two hours from our residence. This weekend the desert hosted Coachella which is the ultimate music experience, if you have never been it is definitely something you should consider checking out. I will admit that one of my favorite parts of Coachella is the people watching, especially around the rave tents; be prepared to see a plethora of spirit hoods and body paint.

Here is my green leisure suit which is prefect outfit for strolling around the desert. Tomorrow's post will show my Coachella festival garbs!

The Basics

This week we are preparing for our annual trip to the desert to attend Coachella. This trip will be slightly different than prior years as we will have our little peanut in tow, well not exactly. Layla will be lounging poolside under careful tutelage, while we navigating the music festival masses.

Layla's suitcase is just about packed and it is filled with the basics, such as white tees, cut offs, hair swag and double digit SPF! In the same vein as Layla, I will also be showcasing the basics during the festivities!

Stay tuned for my packing guide!

Trending Now-Floral Prints

This Spring floral prints are in full bloom; and we are stocking up in a big way. I have purchased a myriad of baby clothes splashed with floral bouquets in every shape, size and style imaginable.

This Baby Boden long sleeve (first image) reminds me of the early 90's Laura Ashley wallpaper I had displayed in my bedroom (along with my white lacquered trundle day bed..obviously). I love this dainty top paired with colored denim and a pink bow head band.

When I am not feeling nostalgic, I am drawn to the more modern abstract prints as seen in Layla's floral track jacket.

Regardless of the style, hue or print.... Flower Power is currently trending.

On Layla:
Baby Boden Onsie
Peek Yellow Jeans
H & M Track Jacket
H & M striped Jeans
