Kissy Kissy Giveaway

Have you ever been over the moon excited about a baby outfit? I get a giddy feeling every time I dress Layla in Kissy Kissy clothing. Not only is the collection full of playful and exuberant pieces but all the clothing is made with Peruvian Pima cotton, so the texture and hand of their garments feels like butter.

I have been a big fan of this brand since the beginning of motherhood. Layla's first outfit coming home from the hospital was a Kissy Kissy onesie similar to this one here; and for the first three months of her life, these onesies were on heavy rotation.

Now that she is almost a year old, I am enjoying their top and bottom sets. Layla is wearing the Navigator top and matching capri set, which is on sale now at Bloomingdale's.com, and I can’t think of a better outfit to add to her Fourth of July weekend repertoire.

I have been on a patriotic shopping craze and swooping up as much Fourth of July memorabilia as possible. This Independence Day is going to be a huge celebration for our family as we are doubling it up with Layla's first birthday. I have secured at least 4 outfits for this monumental event so stay tuned for more outfit ideas.

PS I just ordered this on sale and very patriotic coat from Zara kids! 

On another life note, Layla has 4 teeth peeking through, needless to say it has been a rough but exciting week in our house.

A new Game

Since before her birth, my husband has been praying Layla will embrace the love of golf as much as he does. I think his wish is progressing nicely; Layla is fascinated with picking up the golf balls and dropping them into the hole. Is there much more to the sport than that?....I think not. 

On the greens, Layla likes to sport her sweatsuit jumper, a white collared jacket and a mighty cute game face. 

My Birthday

I am officially another year wiser!  The past 12 months have been a whirlwind and it is hard to believe that this time last year I was eagerly waiting for the arrival of my baby. Now, I practically have a toddler.  I have found the older I get, the more quickly time flies. In my next year, I am committed to live in the moment and capture as many pictures and videos as possible of my little munchkin, because before I know it she will be leaving the birds nest. 

My husband and I celebrated my birthday over dinner at Boccaccio's, an Italian restaurant overlooking Westlake, this serene location was the perfect spot to observe my "29th" birthday...again. 

Favorite Sandals for Summer

1/2/3/4/5/6/7

It is officially summer time and sandal season is in full swing. I am giving my nod of approval to the black and white trend that is making an appearance in the footwear world. I am especially excited for the abundant flat options, as I have recently embraced flats whole heartily. Wearing flats, unless to the pool, is breaking a sartorial rule I made long ago, which excluded flats from my footwear arsenal. I always felt frumpy in flats, which was probably more of a complex than the truth. At any rate, I am singing a different tune about flat shoes and I have my eyes on these seven pairs! Ray of Sunshine

 I am blessed with one of the happiest babies I know; the universe has certainly smiled upon me with this one. However, I have been told that a happy first baby is a sure fire way to coax you into a second child (which is certain to be ill mannered). I tend to disagree with the "second child wives tale" because I am convinced Layla's good nature comes from her parents (haha). All jokes aside, has anyone found this to be true?  I need to know what I am in for before I consider the second.
